New Studio

I have a new studio!  I have a studio.  I have a STUDIO ALL TO MYSELF!

For over 14 years Scott and I have been "employed" by the creating of artwork.  During this time we also started a family- raising 2 children, many chickens, and growing our food- all the while working at home and traveling to up to 25 shows a year.  We look back and are so grateful that we took the plunge into this life when we were young (24!), as we were brave and naive, a near perfect combination to have in order to make a living doing something you love, foregoing fear and societal norms.
We lived in a 1 bedroom house for years, with our firstborn, while Scott painted in the living room (with unwarranted "help" from Maia) and I worked in a screened-in porch.  Eventually Scott's studio moved into a chicken-shed turned art space (Thanks to the helpful hands of construction fairies who arrived one weekend!).  In the years since those early days we have worked in all manner of spaces...porches, sheds, barns, basements, canning sheds, more basements, garages, living rooms...any place we could squeeze in.  At times we ached for the beautiful studios that we would see in articles or on other artists fb pages...but we did what we could with what we had.  Because it's not what you've got, it's what you make.

This past year, after taking a few years hiatus from the studio (or lack thereof), Scott is back in the studio full time.  However, we were both in the studio.  The time had come for us both to have our separate spaces...or else... :)  After contemplating for the better part of a year on the best option, we finally plunged into an option.  For the last 2 months we have turned what was a lean-to shed off the garage into a beautiful space that I get to call my own.  I am unbelievably grateful for this space, and for the ingenuity and skills Scott has as a builder.  This was built with our own blood, sweat, and yes tears.  I have a peaceful area that overlooks my garden.

Check it out!

The next step is to move out some pieces I still have from this past year or two and make room for new ideas.  So...SALE!  check out the "Store" page on the website for some sales!

I am filled with gratitude that I get to "make" for a living, filled with gratitude for each one of you that has supported my art with purchases, filled with gratitude for the bits and pieces of your lives you have shared with me and in turn have encouraged me to continue sharing the bits and pieces of mine in the ways I can.  Thank you, you all helped us make this space.

A little bit more about the work, and the worker behind the scenes.
